Depression Therapy in Coventry & Online

Lift the weight. Rediscover hope. Reconnect with life.

Depression is more than feeling sad.
It can feel like a heavy fog, draining your energy, clouding your thoughts, and dimming the joy in things you once loved. Some days it’s numbness — other days it’s overwhelming heaviness.

You may look “fine” on the outside, while inside you’re exhausted, lonely, or questioning your worth.

Depression isn’t a sign of weakness — it’s a signal that your mind and body need support. With the right help, it is possible to feel lighter, more grounded, and more alive again.

You don’t have to carry this alone. There is a way forward.

    • Process the root causes of depression (such as past experiences or unresolved grief)

    • Reconnect with joy, purpose, and meaning

    • Develop coping strategies for day-to-day energy and motivation

  • My approach is integrative and person-centred. Depending on your needs, we may use:

    • EMDR Therapy — to reprocess painful memories and release their hold.

    • Counselling — to create space for your story and feelings to be heard.

    • NLP & Coaching tools — to gently shift limiting beliefs and reconnect you with motivation.

Together, we’ll work at your pace, combining gentle exploration with practical steps to support your wellbeing.

  • Case Story 1 – Hidden Depression

Sam (not their real name) looked like they had it all together: a good job, friends, and an active social life. But behind closed doors, they felt empty, exhausted, and detached. Smiles felt forced, and they often thought, “What’s the point?”

In therapy, we worked gently with EMDR to process early experiences of constant pressure to “perform.” Alongside this, counselling provided space to voice the hopelessness they had hidden for years. Over time, Sam began to reconnect with genuine joy rather than relying on appearances. The heaviness eased, and they found themselves able to wake up with a little more energy each day.

Case Story 2 – Postpartum Depression

Leila (not their real name) had recently given birth and felt overwhelmed by a deep sadness she couldn’t explain. While everyone else expected her to feel happy and grateful, she battled guilt, intrusive worries, and a sense of failure as a mother.

Through therapy, she learned that her depression wasn’t her fault — it was her body and mind trying to cope with immense change. We combined grounding tools with EMDR to gently reduce the intensity of her intrusive thoughts. Counselling also gave her space to voice her fears without judgment. Over time, Leila began to feel more connected with her baby and herself, with less guilt weighing her down.

    Case Story 3 – Long-Term Depression

David (not their real name) had been living with depression for over a decade. He often described it as “a heavy fog” that never lifted. Medication had helped in the past, but the feelings of worthlessness and disconnection always came back.

In therapy, we explored how his depression linked to unresolved childhood neglect and critical parenting. Using EMDR, he processed painful memories that had left him with the belief that he was “never good enough.” Over time, the fog began to lift. David still had down days, but he also rediscovered purpose — reconnecting with old hobbies, friends, and even planning a new career path.

  • Do I have to talk about my past?
Only if and when you feel ready. EMDR allows us to reduce the emotional weight of experiences without needing to go into detail.

What if I feel too tired or unmotivated for therapy?
That’s okay. We will meet you exactly where you are, and even small steps can create meaningful change.

    Can therapy replace medication?
Some people benefit from both therapy and medication. We can work alongside any medical treatment you are receiving.

  • Depression can feel isolating, but you don’t have to go through it alone. My role is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can feel supported, understood, and gently guided back to yourself.

I blend different therapeutic approaches so that your sessions are tailored to you — whether that’s EMDR to reprocess the root causes, counselling to explore your emotions, NLP to shift unhelpful patterns, or practical tools to make day-to-day life feel lighter.

Clients often describe feeling “lighter,” “more hopeful,” and “seen” after our work together. Over time, small steps build into lasting change: better sleep, more energy, and a renewed sense of meaning.

You don’t have to “snap out of it” or carry the weight on your own. With the right support, healing and hope are possible.
